help to put a obd0 d16a9 to obd1

i want to pass to obd1 my crx d16a9 obd0 but i have a question about DASHPOT CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE on obd0 ecu pinout is on B2 but the ecu pin out obd1 doesn´t use it? so what i have to do? remove it??

just remove it - the function of the dashpot control solenoid valve on the OBD0 engine was to boost the idle slightly when the engine was cold and the ambient air temperature was very low (below -10C, 14F) - didn't do anything once the engine was warmed up - the OBD1 engines utilized a Fast Idle Thermal Valve located on the bottom of the throttle body which did not require an electronic connection to the ECU as it was strictly mechanical - when you remove the solenoid valve, you need to cap the vacuum port on the dashpot that was controlled by the solenoid - you will notice that the dashpot on the throttle body has two vacuum ports, one with vacuum hose from the solenoid (#22 on the vacuum connection diagram) and one with vacuum hose from the front of the intake manifold (#6 on the diagram) - the one on the bottom (#22) is the one you need to cap
 
yea changing to obd1 on the A9 is easy as can get you literally just need to change distributors , delete the exhaust cam sensor (bseries exhaust cam plug works or just leave it in and unplugged) can reuse your obd0 map sensor if NA and get a obd0 to obd1 conversion plug

ok thanks i will try this weekend, another question if i have in my 0bd0 the ecu with ima sensor but i want to put an o2 sensor i can do the same that you explain to use the 02 sensor removing the selenoid?
 
not, i have two obd0 one with ima sensor and another with o2 sensor, now i have installed "the ima ecu" now i want to put "the o2 ecu" and in a near future i want to pass to obd1 and use a heater wideband if you can say me what obd1 ecu i can put, im trying to search Del SOL with the d16a9 because used a obd1 ecu, P29 if iremember well, but its difficult to find other option its a hondata ecu

on the ECU with IMA, the wire for the IMA runs to ECU pin B20 and the wire for the Ignition Timing Adjuster runs to ECU pin C16
on the ECU with O2 sensor, the wire for the O2 runs to ECU pin C16 and the wire for the ignition Timing Adjuster runs to ECU pin B20

you just need to swap the wires at locations B20 and C16 at the ECU connectors - cut the wires to swap them as you can't de-pin them from the ECU connectors and plug them in to the other ECU connector - the B and C ECU connectors have different pins

the OBD1 ECU needed is the P29 - I am only familiar with the JDM P29 DOHC ZC ECU which doesn't use a 4-wire heated O2 sensor, only 1-wire like the OBD0 PM7 - the Del Sol ECU may be different
 
ok thanks! i will try it this weekend so if i understood well i can put the ecu obd0 with o2 sensor and remove dashpot control solenoid and it will work ok, won´t it? like you explained me.
i think to find a jdm p29 ecu its difficult too...

yes - just swap the two wires, noted above, at the ECU so that the ECU recognizes the O2 sensor

yes, the OBD1 JDM P29 is hard to find - you could use a PO6 from the 92-95 Civic with manual trans - it can be chipped with the P29 fuel and ignition maps
