I was planning on driving my truck for a couple more years, but its been acting up a lot. Its one of the last 5spd Silverados made and its low mileage for the year. It has been reliable until about a month ago when the clutch went. Drove it to work 3 days then the ignition control module crapped out. Got it running drove it 5 more days then the rack and pinion shit out. So its time to go.

What sites do you guys use for searching for used vehicles? I have been using cargurus, but I am looking for ones that may have more dealers on it. I will probably be paying cash since I don't want a payment right now with trying to buy a new house. Any advice for getting a good deal. The market seems really high in price right now.

Not going to find a 5pd these days

Don't tie up the cash if you're about to move... Lenders tightened up quite a bit since covid hit. $500 beater to get by?

Used cars are at a 10 year high

I don't know if it's legitimate or what the prices are but I've seen some cars around lately with Carvana license plate frames.

Might be worth looking into. But as B said used car prices are ridiculously high right now.

I know what you are saying. I have my Jeep that is a 3rd vehicle but the rust belt is starting to take its toll on it. Within the last year I replaced rotted brake lines, front spring perch, and oil pan due to rot. I want to get something a little nicer to bring the kids around in.

Prices are ridiculous. I have been looking for a RAM and they have gone up a couple grand in the last month. I have been looking at Grand Cherokees which still seem to be somewhat reasonable with a good inventory.

Probably the worst time to buy a vehicle in the last 20 years. Insane supply constraint...

The residual right now on my 3 year old truck is higher than I paid for it new.

I have been busy lately, hopefully tomorrow I will be able to find something.

I have pretty much given up on getting a truck, worst case I could take home a truck from work if needed. I may hold onto my Silverado for the time being for when I need a truck. Found a grand cherokee that should be ready for me to see on Thursday.
