Your turbo car will last as long as you want if you put the right amount of money and time doing it. If you go cheap , yeah there is more chance that it won't last. Get a good turbo and most important someone that knows what he's doing and a good tuner that going to tune it on the safe side if it's going to be your DD. Don't get crazy about big number. 170-200 whp is more than enough for street driving. Make sure you know exactly what you want and what you can do (money). It doesn't make any sense to set a goal and not be able to reach it. If i was you i would just go with the Greddy bolt on turbo kit for your car
http://greddy.com/products/display/?Category=turbo&SubCategory=15. You won't need to upgrade internals unless you want to do it . I know people here will tell you to make your own setup with homemade turbo but play on the safe side . Greddy and others like trubonetic are brands you can trust. If they made a turbo kit for your application you can rely on.
First i would answer the following question: Do i really need a turbo?
Hope that helps.
