your favorite ball joint re-attachment technique?

tried it, still wasnt working for me. Big giant block of wood...well... that worked for me! I was a very handy dandy tool. Made a great parking brake, and a great deadblow big sucka hammer tool! It slices, it dices, it julians fries!

your favorite ball joint re-attachment technique?

yea it just wasnt working for me the other day, part of it was my install ran extremely late in the night and I had to be quiet since I was next to someones apartment. I went the next day, sprayed it with carb cleaner and wiped it a few times then smashed it with a big wood block 3-4 times then...

your favorite ball joint re-attachment technique?

yea I had to take it out to swing the spindle out of the way and slide the axle out that last inch. so you think just cleaning it out and getting all the excess grease outta there should do the trick then? I figured it should just compress in and not budge grease or not so I didnt bother...

your favorite ball joint re-attachment technique?

So I changed my axle last night. All fine and dandy, but I cant seem to get the ball joint pressed back into the lca! I tried lowering the car onto wood blocks, dropping it on wood blocks, hitting with a hammer, prying with an oversized pickle fork, etc. I cant get it to seat down nicely enough...

car NEVER starts on first try when cold

So I am trying to diagnose a problem with my 88 crx HF. When the engine is cold it will never start on the first try, but will always catch on the second try consistantly. Car will crank and spin with turning the key always. If I turn the key for 2 seconds, wait 1 then turn it again it fires...

I ended up picking up fenders locally, but I need the little bracket that holds the fender to the bumper. If you have them Id grab em off you

    crx hf to si brakes

I stand corrected. The stock 13" wheels ACTUALLY clear the brakes. I didnt think they would, and man is it a tight fit in there... but they do! Also, mr2 has the same lug pattern... and thread pitch... but not the same hub diameter. The mr2 hub is smaller than the crx by just a few mm, but just...

    crx hf to si brakes

update: There are no performance pad options listed for the CRX HF worth mentioning... but one thats not listed..... I found the axxis metal master part #088-1231M to cross fit my HF brakes. how did I find that out? I ordered performance crx brake pads and these arrived. I just assumed it was...

    WTB: cheap 14 - 15" 4x100 wheels

So im looking for cheap 14" or 15" 4 x 100 pattern wheels for my crx (preferably with useable tires in a close size). that means your 400$ set of slip streams is not what im interested in. lights a plus, pretty/ugly i dont really care. This is gonna be installed on my crx HF daily driver with SI...

    crx hf to si brakes

Im still waiting on pads so I didnt end up putting the wheels back on afterwards, but I highly doubt I will clear 13" wheels now in the front with these just looking at it. The stock calipers look like they BARELY clear the wheels as it is and these are much larger. The caliper itself is just...

    crx hf to si brakes

some stuff came in today. The HF bracket is MUCH smaller than the SI bracket. (not compatible) The SI bracket, caliper, and rotor fit to the knuckle like stock. NO issues, it is a direct replacement. If someone is doing a brake job to begin with on their HF its already going to entail rotors and...

    crx hf to si brakes

I certainly hope not as I have already ordered all the parts. I would think thats not correct based on the knuckle having the same part # for HF DX and SI

    crx hf to si brakes

so after talking to a retailer who sells hawk pads ive learned the HF pads are 4" wide by 1 3/4 tall, and the SI brakes are 5" long by 2" tall. according to the buybrakes.com website brembo has listed the 88-89 SI/DX as the same rotor, but the 90-91 DX/SI as different part numbers. HF the same...
