When should the vtec kick in at?? mine kicks in a 5500 rpmis that right and if it is not why is it not woking rite??

then the vtec does not seem like it is engageing.

Having trouble with the motor making wierd noise between 4000 rpm and 5500 rpm. also motor sound like it is working too hard but is ingood condition. no smoke. maby oil pump going bad??? no check engine soon light. :(
