Having trouble with the motor making wierd noise between 4000 rpm and 5500 rpm. also motor sound like it is working too hard but is ingood condition. no smoke. maby oil pump going bad??? no check engine soon light.

what does it sound like?

It sounds like it is wineding up or building sometype of pressure and the vtec does not really seem to engage. like a gergaling wistle .

If you have an aftermarket intake that is most likely the cause. This is totally normally especially w/ a cold air.
