B series is always the best choice for a daily driver. The H22 will have gobs of torque but its a tough swap and your handling will go to shit with all that weight up front (regardless of what other people say). i would go for a b20b from an earlier CR-V (already has a low, boostable compression).
i agree about the b16 head. The GS-R head is better. First off, it flows very well and second, the GS-R head has quench zones and a better combustion chamber design. If you get the block decked ect. you can have just as high compression as putting the b16 head on there.
I would go with the b20. If you get the b20b from the earlier CR-V, it comes stock with 8.8:1 compression so you could turbo it from the start, get a good manifold cause the stock b20 intake mani. is too tall. Let me know when you want to get rid of your b18b, I would be interested in taking...
I'm looking for a 2nd Gen CRX shell. I dont care if the engine is blown or missing. If you have a high miles Rex, I might be willing to take it off your hands. Cars in Central Jersey are preferred especially if I have to tow it. Not looking for a car with mods but LET ME KNOW! Send your...
First thing to do is look at the radiator you do have. If you still have a stock LS radiator that may be the prob. When i dropped a GS-R into my civic, I just used an automatic civic radiator, its got a much thicker core. I have no problems with heat. Make sure your temp sensor is working...
Im going for a B20 turbo as well. At this point, i want to worry about tuning the turbo end first. I dont want to have to fuck with VTEC and turbo. Isnt the B20 head the same as an LS with diffrent cams? I was thinking about just port\polish the head, throw some cams at it and get a GS-R...
Alright, I've decided to finally build a monstrous turbo civic. I'm about to pick up an 89 CR-X and I want to drop a B20 turbo into it. Don't need details about suspension or any of that crap. This is my first turbo engint that i have built and im not fully knowledgable about them. This is...
B20 turbo has real good potential. I planning on doing the same thing. Like you said, sleeves, ported head, you'll need a new intake manifold if your using a b20b (it has lower compression as is).
