I just bought an '87 Accord (Carbureted, Auto trans) with 4 spun main bearings and a broken crank
I have availability on a motor out of an '87 CRX si. Will it go in? How tough will it be? what do I need to make the EFI work, or is this impossible. If it is impossible, does anyone have a motor for me?
Thanks in advance. :D

It is pretty much impossible!

First, the CRX motor will not bolt up. You have the following options:

Either stay with stock and repair it, or you can do the following engine swaps. NOTE: if you do an engine swap, you will need to convert your Carb to EFI, here's the "how to" http://3geez.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=112
Personally i wouldn't go through the mission of converting it. I'd just get the EFI model and do an engine swap.

Anyhow, these are some motors you can swap once you convert to efi:
B16 first gen (the easiest swap)
B18
B20

New gen motors come with hydro trannies and wont work for you, you'll need the cable 1st gen tranny.

Check my site for pics of my swap and other FAQ's http://vtecnos.tripod.com

You can also cruise a board dedicated on 3rd generation Accords like yours, at http://3geez.com

See ya!

I just liked the CRX motor because it was cheap. I don' really care up upgrading for performance reasons, at least not right now. Does anyone have an A20A1 or A2 motor sitting around?

Go to http://3geez.com a bunch of them are doing B16 swaps and should have the motor your looking for laying around.
