I have a 87 civic si with a 1.5 and a 87 teg with a dohc 1.6. im not sure which version the motor is in the teg. I was wondering if the swap was possible or if it was even worth it?? Any help would be appreciated
here you go Noob.....G1 CRX Forum but the answer is yes......if it is the 88-89 Teg motor in your 87 Si. The motor from the 87 Teg will bolt right in , but the electronics arent compatible like the 88-89 Integra D16A1.

1G rex's had vacuum advance ignition, same as the 86-87 teg
the 88-89 tegs had electronic advance ignition
totally diff electronics
the blocks are the same so they both bolt in
but the dizzy's, wiring and ecu's are different
save your self the hassle and get the 86-87 engine
i know the you are thinking the 88-89 has 8-10 more hp but
dont think about swapping the dizzy from the 86-87 to the 88-89 because the holes in the head dont line up
