Hey guys, new here.
I searched like hell for a thread about this, but can't seem to find one. Basically what I'm trying to find is a sort of DIY for this swap. This will be my first motor swap so I would really like some sort of guideline (the more detailed the better) on everything needed for this swap.
Right now I have a 1996 Accord EX, 5 speed, 2 door, OBD1, F22B1 vtec motor. Here is a link to the H22A I would like to swap in. JDM Engine - JDM Motors - JDM Parts - JDM Transmission - Honda Cars, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, Toyota
It includes Complete Engine - 5-Speed Transmission - ECU - Intake Manifold - Exhaust Manifold - Distributor - Alternator - Starter - A/C Compressor - Power Steering - Throttle Body - Clutch - Fly Wheel - Pressure Plate. Is there anything else needed? I read on another thread that the axles and hubs on the accord now will still work with the new tranny. Can anyone confirm this?
Also, for $300 the LSD tranny is available. Should I add this? Is LSD really useful on a 200 crank hp car? I don't really have big plans for this motor. A very BIG maybe on turbo down the road, but probably nothing more than a few minor bolt-on parts.
I know I'm asking a lot for my first thread, but I just want to get as much information on this as possible before I even attempt to begin this swap.
If anyone has any information or possibly a link to a DIY of some sort I would really appreciate anything you have.
Thanks in advance.
