Hey, so I’m new to this but I’m not new to mechanics and I’m running into a weird issue so I did a automatic to manual swap on my 98 d16y8 Honda Civic four-door, and everything is running great. There’s no problems except one and for some reason when even attempting to reconfigure the wiring for the ECU, I somehow will randomly from like a 5 mile range just go into a limp mode and then the car will fix itself randomly, and I will go back to driving, but it kills the engine and if I put it into neutral, it just revs up, what seems to be a limp mode and I’m wondering if I either put, the ECU harness plug in the wrong spot or what because I’ve change the IAC several times and nothing has changed and I had a complete scrap manual car to swap this automatic with so every part was at my disposal, including the wiring harness peddles the ECU, the cluster, etc. so if anybody knows where that plug goes in the first place, I would like to be told again, just to reiterate and if anybody else has had these problems I would like to know

This could be a lot of things.
Sounds like a short/incomplete circuit somewhere. A bad o2 wiring did similar for me once (but was not an auto to manual conversion). once the car was warm and transitioned from open loop to closed loop, it died.

Did you switch to the manual ecu as well?

Switching to a manual ECU was my first question as well.
