Remember- concept cars are design studies, not prototypes... well, maybe not for Chrysler.

The Element and the new Civic scare the sh!t out of me. These tell me that the DN-X is just some really phucked up concept. I have always loved Honda but why do they feel they need to make the concepts as tacky as GM concepts. I know the 2-tone (3-tone, 4-tone - whatever it is, I am too disgusted to look at the pictures twice) would not ever stay into production so why the hell do they put it in the concept. I like the idea behind the DN-X but the styling is just obscene. The rear view isn't that bad - Acura finally realized that seimi-circle, flattened beachball looking taillights (as seen on the CL) look like sh!t but they shouldn't look like small loli-pops that got stuck onto the bumper either (like on the DN-X). The side view looks like some retarded attempt to poorly emulate some car from the old Super Nintendo F-Zero game. The front view isn't all that vomit-inducing but it still looks like a cheap GM concept. The interior makes me want to kill somebody. The Jetsons cartoon sucked, the Jetsons vehicles sucked - so why the hell does Honda insist on giving us these nasty Jetsons-looking interiors in their concepts (DN-X, Element, RD-X). Give me a real looking interior. If the rest of the S2000 wasn't so damn beautiful the digital one swoop redline read out would ruin the car - so they got lucky there but it won't be easy to repeat. I sound like I hate Honda which couldn't be further from the truth but the DN-X concept brings out everything that has been pissing me off about Honda in recent years. If I may, let me build the DN-X right here for Honda: Keep the engines and AWD and Supercar-Sedan idea. Loose the interior and instead replace it with the IS300's interior. Keep the rear size and basic shape just make the taillights and shape classy and somewhat reminiscent of the last Prelude (God rest it's soul). Make the overall shape of the car like a smoothed out Legend (God rest IT'S soul) with a shorter trunk and lower. Keep the overall shape of the front end but for my stomach's sake fix those turn signals and make those headlights a little bigger (just a little bigger Honda, I'm not asking for another disgusting bugeye RSX looking headlight set) and bring the seperate lights a little closer together. I am sorry for going nuts here but the DN-X is just the last hit I can take before I had to open my mouth. I love Honda's and no matter how ugly they get I will probably always own only Honda's but please give your loyal fans what they want. I understand that the Civic and CRV has to be bland to get all those people who just want a bland reliable car. That leaves Honda with several models to have fun with, so have fun without being disgusting radically nasty. Why can't you aim those vehicles at your loyal fans rather than movie producers who might be looking for a futuristic looking piece of sh!t to place in the background of Back to the Future IIII. Instead of trying to make vehicles that might be normal looking 30 years from now they should make vehicles that look beautiful now.
