You can post the bad, and bitch and complain, or maybe you could become a teacher/doctor/insert useful proffession here. But then you'd have to put forth the effort that your whiney post is complaining is missing, but hey, it's easier to be part of the landscape I guess.

Seems easy huh? to sit and point out the flaws, why don't you instead come up with feasible ways to fix them?

The first step of solving the problem is identifying it.

With reponses like Celerity's do you really even think that we are there yet?

Exactly - the usa is the best place ever and if somebody hates it then they should move.

Philosophies like that one are the reason that America is going to stay right on course for the shitter unless people that can see the problems decide to try to do something about it.

That's horseshit. That means that over 4000 people here on Hondaswap think that the sun revolves around the earth. Another about 3000 think the earth revolves around the sun once a day.

New York Times, and the Week are full of downright lies.

Thats the easiest way to explain away things isn't it? I don't know if you are farmilliar with statistics or not, but if you were you would definitly understand that the hondaswap demographic is not even close to that of America. As contrary, given the nature of some people's posts, as it may sound, there is some requisite intelligence necessary to be able to go reach hondaswap.com and join up. Subsequently the populace of Hondawap is not an analogous population with which to compare these statistics.
That said you should also be able to observe that as long as dumb American's have their Christianity, they don't feel that they need anything else. To see this in action, compare the number of religious channels you get on television to channels devoted to pure logic and science (none). Also look at the nations spending priorities. In california, while the corrections budget continues to climb, students are expected to more and more shoulder the cost of their education. More than anything it seems silly that American's are even upset with these numbers. I mean honestly, look at the behavior of most of your peers during the time when you were in school. School has become a social institution in the stead of an educational one. That isn't to say that I agree with the direction the country is going, in fact it pains me greatly that we are losing our focus on a well rounded education, which makes me scared to venture my career in the field of education. But change has to start somewhere.

Wow. I'm glad that in all your ranting about the American school systems, you take the time to step aside and Bash Christianity. Way to go. I hope you never teach in school.

I wouldn't necessarily say he was bashing christianity, just a good number of the people that are involved with it. Honestly, I feel the same way. When you use your religion as a tool or a bargaining chip, you lose my respect.

Let me get this out of the way. You're an idiot. You are exactly what is wrong with this country, you see a person you are not fond of speaking of a term which you hold dear, then shut yout mind off. If you have not noticed this "awakening" happening in American Society, then i suggest you open up your eyes. Evidence? sure. Dover Pensylvannia recently OK'd teaching "intelligent design", a thinly veiled attempt at creationism. Look at how our president speaks of his mandates from God, the way he invokes religion has been hitherto unheard of. Do you see the American people rising in revolt at his faith based policies? nope. They've been dumbed into complacency. What I stated was not an attack on Christianity, I wholly admit Jesus' teachings are good for keeping people in line and convincing them to happily suffer because something better is awaiting them in the next life. But to wish that I would not reach my goal of being a teacher? Do you really fear diversity that much? Well, if its ok for you to say that, Ill also interject that i hope you dont breed, for fear of passing on your ignorance to your children. America has enough dumb people already.

WOW. I knew it was bad, but not this bad. However, the sampling of the populus for stats is kind of etchy. They dont state where and age groups, etc etc... But in general i agree that our educational system has gone to shit. In one year they have almost doubled the titution at our local community college.
Anyway, i think its because we whine too much and are lazy. Most of the kids i graduated in high school are working at department stores or "living" life to the fullest. I wish i could do that, but i cant because i dont have desposable income.
As an example to how much we whine, a while back in my math class the teacher scheduled an exam. 90% of the class whined saying thats insane because they have exams the day before, after, or some shit like that and reschedule for next week. I understand it'll be hard, but thats fucking tough. Its friggin college. I took all 4 mid terms in one day. Its not all that bad though, because where else can you live in the world where you go to jail or release a sex tape and make tons of money.

I took all 4 mid terms in one day.

most schools have policy's stating you don;t need to take more than 3 major exams in one day... and the prof's have to let you reschedule...

In one year they have almost doubled the titution at our local community college.

this is the case pretty much everywhere in the country...
wouldn;t it be nice if maybe the military budget wasn't so out of control that our tax money could maybe go to helping people in this country with things like healtch care or education, just to name a couple...

hmmm OUR money for war, or OUR money to help US, the citizens of THIS COUNTRY... the ones that NEED THE HELP...

hey guys .I see it got interesting while i was gone.Well just a little info on whats happening here in Tally FL. Bush's little brother Jeb just passed a law raising minimum wage to 7.25 or so. It used to be 5.15. Not being prejudice or anything but the majority that were complainig on t.v. were minorities. They were on t.v stating,'' whats $2? they can afford it.'' The majority spoke like they had no education and even had children....at the age of 25 or less. Apparently they dont want to wait and EARN a raise.
Because they are wanting more money for less work. Our city has raised the fucking price on almost EVERYTHING up to $2! I used to buy oil for $1.69(casrtol gtx). Now it's like 2.89 or something. Also the state workers dont get their raises and people are getting layed off. Everywhere, even burger king!
It doesnt matter what we do to get money from the goverment. The government will ALWAYS find a way to get it back if not more.

I usually don't like to talk about polotics but this is really getting out of control.People are getting lazier and fatter every year. I'm not bashing the U.S i like living here. I'ts some of the citizens who really piss me off.

oh same here. teachers are pissed cuz bush cut the budget for ELEMENTARY school. Also tuitions have raised and sholarships have been reduced.

what?
the city does not raise the prices unless they increased the sales or use tax...
its the companies that raise prices...
socialist vs. capatalist...

and the price of oil is a whole diffrent story... again we can thank bush for that for fucking with the supply in the middle east... fears on supply raised prices, and OPEC being greedy fuckers also raised prices...

ohh yeah i forgot.. our sales taxe was increased a couple years ago.I think it was like 7.5%. I dont know the exact #'s on the prices but man i swaear even fucking walmart went up. Alot of places took me by surprise. I was told the main reason is due to the raising of the min. wage.

damni gotta go again. sorry guys i wont be able to chat for a WHILE. Im going out of town for some errunds.
