Went racing this last weekend, got 2nd place on Saturday! Then I spun #4 rod bearing. :( I'm having excessive crank case pressure and puked oil into my catch can, causing an oil starvation in the motor on high G loads thus frying the bearing. I think I'm going to just replace the bearings, add breather ports to the VC and block off my black box and hope for the best? Thoughts? I really don't want to pull the motor again. Here are pics, journals appear to be ok. Oh, it knocked off a squirter too.

Buddy is telling me to repalce the rod too; it has some discoloration on the cap from the heat. :(

jeesus man WTF

this damn engine is cursed

Damn:( Hopefully I fare better when I fire mine up in a few weeks.

Shit, that sucks.

For relieving crankcase pressures, what about running one of those venturi tubes that go into the exhaust(pulling vacuum from the catch can of course)?

What I think I'm going to do is tap 2 -10AN fittings into the front of the VC, run that to a larger catch can. Have that catch can drain back into the oil pan through my moroso turbo return bung. Then block off the black box in the rear. This way if any oil does puke into the catch can, it will drain back into the oil pan. Vapors will still escape through the breathers on the catch can.

What happened was I puked so much oil into the catch can (~2qts) that on hard left handers the oil went away from the pickup (not enough even for my baffles to save) and thus dropped oil pressure, fell out of vtec, killed bearing. :(

The rod end has some discoloration; I assume I need a new rod.

I just want to drive this damn car.. damnit!

I do need one! You have a GSR rod? Let me know how much shipped to 94597.

Let me check the number on my rod too to see if you have a similar weighted one.

free, they are all 3's and i can try to pull that oil jet for you too.

just pay for shipping.

road racers stick together :)
