In the late 70's a midwest farmer invented an internal combustion engine that would run solely on corn oil, but notice how it never surfaced until now, but its mixed with gasoline and costs just as much as regular gas. Atleast thats what I believe.

its mostly luxury and power, which adds weight.

91 Honda Crx HF (my car)= 1967lbs
08 Honda civic hybrid= 2,877 lbs.
if the hybrid were lighter and cut some luxury's then it would get more mpg
