whats the difference between an acura legend type l and type ll engine. the 3.2L sohc, Someone treid to tel me that the type ll engine is an nsx motor. The motors are outta 92-95 legends. Whats the differnce and what motor has more potential.

I believe the type II had like 230 or 260 horses. Usually(I'm sure not always) it was attached to a six speed gearbox, and it was installed in a coupe instead of a four door. I just remember that because I was looking for a legend a while back. I would guess that the NSX would probably be a different/better motor. They are probably both great motors, but aftermarket support is not as good as their honda brothers.

actually the nsx and legends share very similar qualities such as brakes. but the main thing they share is the acura legend block. the 3.0 aka c30.the earlier nsx's(the 3.0's) used the c30a in both the auto and manuals. whereas the new nsx's use the c30a in the auto's and c32's in the manuals.

so basically the legends shares the same block code. not sure about the bore or stroke though. but they also share some sweet brakes which us lude owners can use.

but no the type 2 motor is not the same as the nsx. by a long shot. lol. but they share the same type of block.

Well, that's not too big a deal though. Hell, the Acura CL's that had the 3.0L engine had a C30 block code as well.

The difference is the stuff IN the block. And of course, the whole thing with having an extra cam per bank of cylinders, etc etc. :)

Wouldn't it be 2 VTEC solenoids though? My old H22 only had one...

granted the h22 was the original nsx motor. they made some revisions. and there are 4. :P

do massive amounts of searching. the h22 motor was the pilot motor for the nsx. why do you think they have such common similarities? including the frm coating? it took me by surprise when i found it out but i read into it more and i know why they changed over.

It'd be cool if you could start a new thread about this topic, and share some knowledge with the rest of us. :P
