B16a2 OBD2 engine

Hey guys,

I am very new to all of this, doing the swap while still in highschool. I brought a b16a2 OBD2 engine out of a 96 ek4. They were just selling the engine, if I could've gotten the whole swap (ecu, harness, etc) I would have, but they wernt offering it. I also brought a OBD2a ECU, which now I realise I messed up, what do I do from here, is it worth getting a OBD2 harness and trying to find a adapter to the ECU? Im very lost, I am in australia and these parts are really hard to find.

What car is it going in to?

Generally, you use your car's stuff, and swap plugs from the engine where required if your mix/matching obd's.

It’s going into a 98 ek1 civic hatch

Those should both be OBD2a
It was 99-00 that were OBD2b (in the US at least)
Also from my understanding all JDM years were OBD2a only, which leaves me to wonder if AUS would follow that as well

Sure ill take the photos now, I am australian, there pictures that ive included, are the engine, the obd2a ecu and the distributer cable because I did research and it says you can tell based on what plug

Also I did pick and piece parts, they didnt come in a pair together, thats just what was available here in australia and I got them not knowing much about it. So if they arnt the right ones for each other it would make sense
