Yeah, well i decided to go for the marines after looking at the different branches. They are going to give me $19,000 for college, which will be paid monthly over 3 1/2 years starting right after boot camp, for signing for 6 years. Also the offer a program called PLC, which is basically training to be an Officer. If i decide to go for this program, instead of just 19k i will get 19k PER Year, until i finish my degree. Then when i graduate, i stop being on reserve status, and i become active for four years. But the good thing is i start off as an officer since i have a degree, and they start out at around 60k per year.
I know a few others in here are military, so give me your thoughts on this. oh yeah, I took my ASVAB last week and scored a 90. Just wondering what some of you guys scored on it. Next i have my physical on Saturday, then i will get my exact day for Boot Camp, which i know will be in June for sure. The good thing is too, the boot camp is here in San Diego, and so is the reserve unit, so i will stay here.
Oh and my job is gonna be Supply Administration and blah blah . But basically i will be keeping track of a wharehouse, doing inventory, data entry, and other shit. I talked with a guy that works at the same unit and does that, and he said it's a fun job.
Overall, i think this will be a cool experience and i look forward to next summer..
