H22 Forged pistons installation

I have an H22a engine on a Civic 92. I'm planning on installing Type S Cams and Eagle H-Beam Rods with Arias Forged 11:1 Pistons. A friend told that I have to install Sleeves on the stock block. Is that correct?

If you want forged pistons you have to re-sleeve. Do a search about that and you will see it has been covered alot, here and on H-T.

the h22 uses a metal in the sleeves known as FRM or fiber reinforced mesh. the material will not except forged pistons. so in order to get around this there are 2 options. Resleeve the block or go with the new mahle pistons that have a skirt coating that supposedly allows you to be able to run the forged piston in the h22 without resleeving. I personally have not herd any good or bad about these pistons i just know they are failry new to the market. Although i would like to hear some feedback on how people have liked them. the mahle pistons were just reviewed in some import magazine, if i can find which, i'll let you know.

tyler h (gold EK) uses mahle pistons on a stock bore, stock sleeve, closed deck, h22 to over 600whp

As stated before- if you want to run forged pistons you need to install iron repair sleeves, OR pickup a set of Mahle pistons.

The Mahle piston installation and dyno results are in the April 2006 Honda Tuning. Pretty interesting. Showed some pretty good results with some bigger cams.
