Have a 1998 Civic SI with a B16a Japan Del Sol engine (1992?).

Will not start if left sit overnight. Replaced coolant temperature sensor. No change. We have spark, fuel, fuel pressure, injector pulse etc..... when turning over.

Needs distributor cap & rotor (don't think it is causing the problem) but cannot find a replacement (anyone know of where I can get one?).

Check engine light is on but SNAP-ON scanner will not communicate with car. We assume the computer was changed with engine change over. (part#37280-P73-013)

Engine change over was a hack job and alot of things plugged off, tps does not appears to be mounted properly or correct one for car, not sure if proper computer, etc.... but car has ran fine since purchased about 1 year ago. IAC motor not plugged in (plug it in and idle surges from 1000-3000 rpm's) and not plugged idle is chugging/surging 1000 -1500 rpm.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Fix all the hack job stuff
then try it again. A lot of that stuff will cause your motor to be a crapper.

All the crap was there before the problem, so we are not sure if any of it is the cause!!

Lack of information from the owner is our main problem.

Any idea on how to get codes out of it?

you say it is a 92 jdm b16? so get a dist cap/rotor for a 95 del sol vtec. it is OBD1 as well.

Tried the 95 Del Sol cap & rotor. Didn't fit.

Yes it is obd1. Codes #14 (iac is unplugged).

take a picture of your distributor then. if it is obd-1, then teh delsol should work. what did your obd-1 dizzy come from?
