 Don't kill me, GSRCRXSi brought it up to me in our AIM conversations as of late.

If you can't tell by the sig, I'm going all motor without touching the internals for now. But, if I can't get 14.199 or below, I'm going to stroke it.

So..... how much do b16a2 stroker kits go for and who makes it?

I might offer some ideas for you. The stroker kit makes you a 1.8 liter, you can get them from like $1700 to like $2400.

However. I am against that method. For several reasons.

I woudl rather spend this money:

$750 sleeving on your B16A Golden eagle
$550 good set of gas ported pistons
$390 good set of ultralight B16A rods

you have arrived at $1690 and its going to make more peak power, and have a WAY better, flatter, torque curve. Not to mention, its going to be much more fun to drive because of the RPM, and the flat torque curve.

Also, for the $1700-$2400 for the rotating assembly, those pistons and rods don't even compare to the ones I would reccomend for you. Not even in the same ballpark.

here is a dyno graph of a 1.737, 84 MM bore B16A block.
This is at 10 PSI.

Is there any graph better than this on earth? Look at that torque curve.

glad to see import builders joined this site, good info and products from you guys.

Also why spend so much for a stroker kit, when you can pick up a b18 block for much less.

:withstupid:

A built LS block with forged rods and high comp pistons, along with the LS/VTEC conversion kit will cost less.

:worthy: OMG I love you. Thanks for the ideas. For now I'm not touching internals, but I'll keep this in mind. power vs money spent is always a factor as it's fun to say I built a 14second four banger for the price of a mustang GT and I'm running the same times, etc. Thanks man.

Oh, and because I want to use the block I ALREADY have, instead of building a block I don't have.

Shoot man, if its a B16A block, you can probably get one free!

Jeff

haha well, with my luck I may or may not be able to, but hell this one already is free. :D

werd, but I'll have my Escort for my daily driver when I'm doing my mods. for now it'll just be bolt ons and shit, internal work won't be necessary unless I can't make less than 14.199.

if you want more displacement by stroking get yourself a 1.8L block to begin with. this will be way cheaper than trying to stroke a B16. i'm also for the idea of getting an extra block, even if it is to build another B16. and yes you can find them for free, or damn near. i had a b16 block in my garage for a while i got for $20, ended up giving it away.
