Well I think I have had the worst luck ever the past few days with my car. My spring break started friday, drove home from college yesterday, 550 miles. There was no one on the road and in the UP I moved 80-85 the entire time (55 mph country roads) and about 80 on the freeways. 540 miles done, and I get on to the last stretch, and this dumb bitch merges into my lane cuts me off, and we make contact. Thankfully years of GT4 experience kept me from spinning. At first she just keeps on driving. I follow her and continue to flash her so I can get her info. Finally she pulls over and I get it. I only have PLPD so it really doesn't help me too much but what ever. Damage really only consists of some rubber and paint marks and a few scratches all to my driver's side front fender. Oh well, life goes on
...Fast forward 22 hours.
First nice day of the year here so i decided to go out on my road bike. I just bought new wheels last week for it so I was super stoked. Well I'm on my way out of the city to my normal biking road (you have to drive to get there) and I have to make a u turn. Well I do one, and then all of a sudden, halfway through the turn I hear a pop, front end moves down 6 inches, and I hear a grinding sound. I was barely moving so I basically just stopped. Ball Joint snapped I go to use my phone, battery is dead. I am just wearing my biking tights and a jersey. Basically caught with my pants off. Luckily some guy on a bike was riding by right when it happened and stopped. He offered his phone. Well, I really only know 3 numbers, my own, my house, and my dad's who's number is one digit difference then mine. Call him, he picks it up. I tell him the situation, how I am in the middle of traffic (on a busy road) and I don't have my wallet on me which has my ID and AAA card. Finally he gets there, and he walks to the car right when the cop shows up, and he tells the cop that he was driving so that way they don't ask for my license.
The same fender gets even more fucked up, tire got cut, and it snapped the axle in half.
Just one more reason why I hate my car. I a want car that just works. I am actually kinda thinking a honda insight.
And just a random quick pick of my new wheels. I took this with my iBook so the quality sucks. They are Shimano Dura-ace WH7700's. Light and look bad ass, plus I have read a ton of great reviews from them. Got them for 280 shipped from ebay, never used.
