J35a1 to ‘95 EX chassis - 6 speed required?

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

I picked up a 2001 odyssey with the j35A1 engine in it and a 95 civic ex for around 300 bucks. I have found some good information across the web about builds similar to this.

I’m not worried about the custom fab work and I know it will be a lengthy process overall.
being that I live in Michigan I’ll have plenty of time to work on it during the winter.

The main issue that I am having is finding compatible transmissions. Most build guides point to the manual 6 speed trans. But I was curious how hard it would be to actually mount an auto trans onto the j35a1 since the engine already has an auto trans on it anyway.

I can't help much here, don't have any experience with the J's, but this is a pretty good article.

seems like the best bet is to find the manual in an 03+ accord, but they seem to be rare. It's likely not so much the fab work as it is the electronic work to get the automatic working.

Where are you at, exactly? I am in Michigan also, in Rochester Hills.
