Or it was a 6 :)

GT emblembs + V8 under the hood = V8. In most cases, at least. You don't tend to see many V6's with a V8 under the hood.

I don't even care... good kill, bad video

Nah Jon that was a GT. You can see the bumper cutouts for the duals. (which aren't true duals btw)

Good kill Wil. I wonder what people on mustangforums would say to you spankin that guy.  :p

I don't know man, I paused it, frame advanced and only see one. For some reason my screen capture won't capture the video frame on the screen :(

I dunno either then. I don't think he would have taken the time to get a GT bumper. But either way the video sucked.

Still downloading the video...

Was this at the track or on the street? Do I need to get the Civic up and run against some of these guys?

 Wil!

When I lined up with him, there was a group of kids yelling 'I got 20 bucks on the Mustang! I got 20 on the American muscle!'

sorry for the slow-ass download....we-todd-did sucks ass.

Anyone wanna host it for me? cough cough Cory cough cough
[post=527475]Quoted post[/post]

Um. If you need it re-hosted email ZANNYCAT@aol.com. Thats Kyle's email address to get it hosted.

And everytime I go to the Red Neck 1/8th Mile track out here everyone says the same thing. Or they have some smart ass comment about putting different tires on the front.

Then i proceed to lay down consistent 8.3's in the 1/8th and usually if its a street car out there I beat it.

But then they put me up against full out drag cars which suck donkey balls because then they start with the Shit talkin again.

V6's don't have any exhaust cutouts at all.

Then that dude was a shitty driver. Not in a bad way towards you, just he should have had a better launch, as we can't see hte rest of the video.

what do you mean they aren't true duals? the exhaust on mustangs run straight back to an H-pipe, not a Y-pipe like a camaro, and run back to the cut outs. if you are talking about just running straight pipes without a connecter pipe, most v8's don't do that any more, the connecter pipe tends to hide sloppy engineering in the exhaust.
That was definately a GT, not sure if the guy knew how to drive it. One possiblity is that the guy in the mustang didnt take off traction control and when the tires spin the traction control kicks in and reduces power (the engine sounds like its about to die) then once it gains traction again it shoots the rpms back up.
The mustang should of been able to take the civic off the line, thats where most Gt's are fastest, but also where they show driver skills. I can't really tell, but i'm sure since he heard your rpms going up for a launch he tried that too. My experience in my Gt is that you never launch above 1500 rpms or the wheels spin pretty bad and the shift to second gets pretty rough too. I've ran 13.9 at the 1/4 mile with it being damn near stock, the fastest i've heard of a stock GT running was 13.8, but that guy used drag radials. taking that this guy does race his GT and beats the crap out of it, i'll gaurantee it doesn't do better than 14.2 anymore. So you definately killed him, Congrats.

Well you don't launch above around 1000-1500 rpms because you're making max power somewhere around 2000-3000rpms and you would obviously just smoke them.

Nice jobs of the times in your GT, you must know how to drive. :worthy:

I know, that was aimed at John...I was just too lazy to find one of his posts to hit 'quote' on. :)

I watched this race the damn red car was a V8 Mustang GT . They do not run 14's or 13.9 they run like 14.3 on a good day. Mustang Gt's are just slow

Sorry. they have run 13.9s bone stock.

Rarity? yes. But it's happened, and 14.3s are not slow when comparing it to other V8 engine sizes running similar times.
