I ordered this and BF3, and they are both sitting at my house waiting for me to get home in mid December. Have any of you played both and have the pros and cons of both of the games? I'm anxious to see how both of them are!

I like the fact that I can make my 3 killstreaks different between all my classes.

Yeah, that's nice. I like that you can choose which one you want to use at any given time too...

It's about what you would expect. BF3 has great graphics (mostly on the PC though; consoles look good but not a massive improvement over BF: BC2), and the multi-player is fantastic. The campaign and the co-op levels are kind of lackluster though, and the campaign surprisingly rips off a lot of stuff from Call of Duty.

And MW3 brings exactly what you'd expect - Michael Bay style campaign, and lots of multi-player options. They did add some interesting things to keep the multi-player fresh (the new support and specialist kill-streak options, new modes like Kill Confirmed, etc.), but in the end it kind of feels like MW2.5. I'm okay with that, but if you were expecting this to be the game where CoD takes a huge leap forward, well, this ain't it. Still the same engine that they they've been using since CoD4...

I just got an email from redbox, turns out they have the game lol. I already reserved MW3 to rent for tonight.
All the people I talk to on black ops about MW3 sound slightly unimpressed.
Most sound disappointed about the multi-player, and came back to black ops.

I would reserve judgment until you've actually played the game yourself. Since you're still on Black Ops, you're only talking to the people who prefer Black Ops. There have always been people who prefer one rendition of CoD over another for various reasons. Personally I really like Black Ops, but I know there are plenty of people who came off of MW2 and tried Black Ops, hated it, and never played it again... :shrug2:

i like them all.. its a fresh game to play so i'm happy.. i get sick of playing the same maps over and over and over again.. even w/ dlc, it gets old within the year

I will not be prestiging. F that.

I have to prestige, or else I don't see the point in continuing to play. Once I hit 15/50 in Black Ops I kind of lost interest in it... :shrug2:

i lose interest as soon as i see 0xp on the bottom
go buy a bunch of emblem images or playercard backgrounds
enter a high roller wager match, and roll prestige

any quick heads up on good shit i should look for to give me a good heads up on multiplayer?

Too many guns to get everything unlocked for. Hell even in MW2, I only have the M16a4 completely 100% done as far as marksman/expert challenges, and I'm pretty close with the M4. Just so much to accomplish, I don't want to prestige.

i probably wont either.. once i get set with my guns i hate losing them..

they are gonna have it on sale places on black friday, i think i saw a ps3 copy for 35
also check craigslist, lots of people beat the campaign and want something else

I guess it just depends on what you like accomplishing. If finishing guns 100% is your deal, then yeah, maybe don't prestige. I just feel like there's no possible way to even come close to finishing the majority of weapons though. If you don't prestige you'll miss out on the prestige challenges and lots of call-signs (you get lots of new ones every prestige just for hitting certain levels, like 35, 45, etc.).

I'd rather have a large majority of the call-signs and have the prestige challenges open to me then to have any of the guns completely finished. I'm not really concerned with the head-shot challenges either, seeing as you get camos from leveling your gun now instead of getting head-shots.

If it were me, I would prestige at least once so you can open up the prestige challenges. They have them for every weapon and then they also have an entire prestige category of challenges just like in MW2...

One nice thing that you can get from the prestige shop is the equipment unlock. If there's a high level gun that you like, you can unlock it so that it's always available to you no matter what level you are. I chose the AK-47 for mine...

LOLZ at anyone who drops $60 on CoD for the campaign only. I mean, I know people do it, but wow, what a waste - both in terms of the experience they get and how much of the product they're ignoring. If you just want a quality single player game, there's a lot of other games out there that would make you feel like you got your money's worth more so than Call of Duty (Skyrim, Batman, Uncharted 3, etc.)...

I'm perfectly content with my american flag and dog tags on my gamertag, it's my tribute to our soldiers currently overseas and the veterans who've been there.

yea, most of the ones i saw were on craigslist, they beat the campaign and wanted to sell the game for $50 to get another game, so they could beat that campaign, rinse and repeat.

i set mine up with the same thing lastnight, for the same reason

been using the UMP with silencer a lot
seems like the maps almost encourage camping because it seems pretty difficult to spot people when you're more on the move
