whats the most bhp that a d16z6 can handle?
i live in ireland and after market parts cost a small fortune
whats the best modification i cad do to increase power
mod,s all ready done:
raceland manifold
raceland de cat
2.5"cat back system
hks leads+plugs
mugen earth kit

any help thanks

The best mod to increase overall power really is a turbo system. Any major power increase will need good tuning, and good tuning will go a LONG way to preventing a blown engine. If you have the facility to tune, you can go for big power- otherwise stick to bolt-ons.

If you do want to stay all motor though, look into a set of pistons from a DOHC ZC / D16A8 / D16A9. The P29 and PM7 pistons will raise your compression to 12.0:1 under the D16Z6 head, and then you can drop in a nice aggressive camshaft like the Crower stage 3 or the Zex 59300 for more power. Again, you WILL have to tune that setup to prevent engine death...

Blanco you can get more than 150 hp out of a d series, unless you are talking just bolt-ons.

Well the weakest link in the Z6 is the connecting rods. Especially when it comes to turbos IMO.
