Mugen ECU N1 and Cat

Can you tell me if the Mugen ECU N1 is designed to work with or without the cat?

If I remove my cat there will be some error?

i think it does but im not for sure, i know if you remove the cat it will throw a code but those mugen ecu are high if your gonna spend that much just get k-pro there awesome and you can get some serious gains with k-pro.
