Just a quick update...

I got some work done tonight... ran all my gauges and electronics through the firewall, hooked up a couple vacuum lines, realized i was missing the pressure sender from the avcr, so i ordered one of those... i took pics, but due to circumstances with my probably former girl-i-was-seeing-yet-kinda-dating-at-the-same-time-who-now-just-wants-to-be-friends-cuz-she-doesn't-have-time-bullshit-excuse, i didn't get a chance to load them up.

a swap is one thing. hell, the swap has been the easiest part of this whole build up.

Day 9

Well, a long day in the garage, and again, little progress. This is really taking for god damn ever. first person to show up with a flat bed a 10k cash takes this fucking thing.

anyway...

here's what happened.

Ran the EGT gauge sensor:

ran the boost gauge:

started to fuck with the radiator, only to find that it hits the fucking downpipe.

so, yup- it gets it:

so, i start filing....

still doesn't fit.

the feet won't go in either....

so, i figure i'll figure somethign out later... and start to put the fan on.

fucking gay ass bolts. snaped, turning it with one hand with a speedie socket thingee tool (yeah, i don't know wtf its called, ok?)
bolt shears off in radiator.

I give up, its time to mount the IC for real now... I got some metal L brackets at the hardware store, and started fuckign around with some bends... here's what i came up with.

With the IC mounted, i got the turbo to IC coupling all on tight, and tightened down the "clocking" bolts on the turbo.

here's the pressure sensor from the AVCR that i needed.... $116 part. fuckers.

With the IC now in place, it was time to start fuckign with the charge pipes.... they aren't cut right, so i made a few cuts. I'm going to need one more coupling to make this happen now that we've cut the upper charge pipe in two, took about 1.5 inches out of its length. its still a little tall too, i might make one more cut depending on how it fits once i have another coupling.

Bill showed up

and it was now time to trim the bumper cover to clear the IC... well, bill stole it y0! heeheh we had some fun for a couple...

we made a hole for the bottom of the IC to fit through, that way we still had the mouting bolts open for the underside to better secure the cover down.

bumper cover on..... and the IC is crooked as fuck. :-/

I half-assed the radiator back in... and we started to make some brackets.... but it was just getting too cold, and its sat night and we are both going out with the girls, so we called it a day.

my god its crooked... gotta fizix that shizit
