Should I buy this car???

OK, this guy at work is selling a '95 Civic EX, 5 speed, for 3000. I knew my friend wants one so i told him and he said to tell the guy 2500.the guy said yeah, so I'm gonna look at it tuesday. The other guys at work said the car is clean, and has been taken care of. the reason the guy is getting rid of it is because he just bought a new Acura TL-S. So my question is, if the car is taken care of , you think thats a good deal? and is there any certain problems with these models i should look for? Oh and i am assuming that the engine is a Z6 or Y8 because he said it is VTEC. I plan on bringing it in the garage and checking all the fluids also.

92-95 = z6
96+ = y8

not bad deal for 2500 if it runs mint.

1st off, It's gonna be for my friend, who has next to no auto knowledge. Also, I'm in CA and i wouldn't want to go to MA for it.
