tab makes a good point. I posted a question regarding manufacturing processes. Void content is a major concern. If there is a void inside the resin, it acts as a stress riser, such that the stress experienced at the interface of the pore and resin is about 3 times that of the applied stress (assuming a perfectly spherical pore). the problem with CF is that you can't see inside of it to determine if there is porosity. there are few non-destructive techniques available for that kind of analysis. hopefully they use some form of resin transfer molding or hot pressing or vacuum assisted resin transfer molding. then the void content would be relatively low and acceptable.
