Stage 2 Cams Need Other Mods

ive heard off and on stories about yes i do need springs and retainers and vice versa. i have a stage 2 crower cam 62403. can i put them in my head w/ port and polish job w/ out springs and retainers. if i was to rev it to high and break a valve will i ruin my cams ? ?

yes you should get springs ... you need something kinda matched to the cam though ... too weak and you will still get valve float at high RPM's ... too hard and you will wear the cams... retainers are a good idea as well
