i would go with ground control/skunk2 coilovers with stiffer rates in the rear.

then i'd get a rear 22mm sway bar or larger.

then front/rear strut tower bars.

once you do this you'll notice a big improvement in overall handling.
 
Dont forget the struts when going to the stiffer springs makes for a better ride plus the stock shocks being old wont stand up to the abuse for a long period of time.

I have Ground Controls w/ Tokico HP Blue work wonders on my hatch.
