Does anyone have the procedures for testing the TDC on a D17A1. I have a new one on order but I would rather test the old one then blindly replace it.

? Not sure what you're talking about. TDC=Top dead center, the position of the crankshaft/piston. You can't really replace it.

You gotta replace the whole internals of the distributor....

I'm sorry guys for not being more clear. When I said testing the TDC, I meant the TDC sensor, aka the Camshaft sensor. It senses the angle/rotation of the camshaft in realation to the the crank, sends the signal back to the ECM and allows the proper fuel management.

The 01-05 Civics have direct coil ignition systems so it is not in the distributor. If I remember correctly, the 01 was the first year the Civics had distributor-less ignitions.

But I found the procedures in a service manual.
