NY has had this the last couple years
you can submit an amount based on your income

this is only items purchased from your state i think. even on ebay some auctions will list that certain states have to pay tax.

negatory

people on ebay will charge sales tax if you live in the same state as them
if they are shipping to a different state then they don't need to worry about that states sales tax

the use tax is only for things purchased outside the state and shipped back in

and no one pays tax on classified purchases, but the law says you should...

we tell all out clients to pay the 20 bucks er whatever it is...
no need to risk a compliance/enforcement audit for 20 bucks

if your state has sales tax you're suspossed to pay tax on EVERYTHING you buy...
NY has an exception for food, like grocery store food, prepared meals = taxable "service"

i thought about putting my tv down, but i didn't. I figure, i'm probably going to get auidted anyway... lol

i'll bet you an EW4 that you don't get audited, unless you did something really foolish or make a stupid mistake on the forms...
did you pay the standard use tax for your AGI?
or you didn't pay any?

there was no "standard" offered.

it said "enter in the amount of tax you shoudl have paid for out of state purposes"

i'm like fuck that, theres no way in hell i can figure that out without knowing i need to save stuff like that. so i put in 0.

i got my state tax return back already though.... :p
so its just the feds that are out to get me still

8. What are the penalties and interest for not paying the
use tax?
The penalty is 10% (.10) of the tax due. Interest is charged at
the rate of 1% (.01) per month or fraction of a month from the
due date of the tax return. There are also criminal sanctions
for willful failure to file a tax return.

from ct dept of revenue... you're doing time buddy
