Thousand Foot Krutch - Welcome to the Masquerade, is a pretty decent album.

Owl City - Ocean Eyes has some catchy tracks on it.

I'll agree with demon, Taylor Swift isn't half bad. I saw her in concert with the ex and it was a pretty good show.
 
If you want to listen to anything softer, one of my favorite all time bands is Collective Soul. They're rock, but they have a lot of stuff that is easier.

I like their new self titled album (with the rabbit on it, not to be confused with their other self titled album...)

Anyway... I've heard one song by them. Not too bad really, but not my style anymore. It is fronted by Tom DeLonge from Blink 182 to give you and idea of what it sounds like.
 
How bout Counting Crows - Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings. I think that's their most recent album.

I've met the guys from blue scholars. They went to UW. They're super chill music, great for wakeboard, snowboard, surf movies, etc.
