if you have basic wood safety matches and nothing around to strike them with, you can strike them on phenolic. go me!

I usually tend to have matches still in the matchbook... so the obvious choice is on the matchbook.

You could have also used your stove (Even if its electric) to light your smoke... That way you dont get that nasty match sulfur taste...
