what makes u think its vtec e ?....and to the thread starter just stick the d16y8 tranny in it thats the best you can get for your car unless you want to find a lsd d15b trannyWell replace it with the same exact tranny for the simplist fix. Is it automatic or manual? Do you want it to now be automatic or manual? You can change that over now if you want. Manual FTW!
Your best bet is just use the auto or manual which was intended for that motor, because it's a lil more powerful than older D series, being that yours has VTEC-E lol...
I had that motor, and SOHC vtec has nothing on DOHC vtec
swap the motor too if you've got the fundage.

a d16y8 is not a vtec e motor its a normal vtec motor, the vtec e is a d16y5"I had that motor"
I own a '00 civic ex, which used to have a D16Y8, that's why i know it's vtec-e.
tranny from your ex or 92-95 ex/si thats the way, unless you want long gearing(d16y7 tranny)
the 92+ ex will also work there the sameIll try to find the tranny from a 92-95 si
no thats not it ,,it was also in the 96+ hx modleVtec e was found in the civic vx hatchback and thats it.
Yes stock tranny is best or a custom built which would be better but cost more. Got to dseries.org and search there for some options.
