]I'm getting new 17'' wheels in a couple of weeks. I'm thinking of putting on 245x35x17 rear tires. Does anyone have experience of installing such a WIDTH to Prelude 4th gen. Some people say that there may be problems with arches or arms.

245 is freakin wide dude.

first off, i hope your wheel is at least a 17x9 or 17x9.5. any less than that, and you're going to be floppy.

while i have no idea if it will clear a lude (i'd still put $50 on it not working) the offset of the wheel along with the width, as well as how low you are, and if your fenders are rolled or not come into play.

if you kick them out with enough offset, you can clear the suspension on the inside, but then you need to cut and get custom fenders on...
and the ass end is wide as Rosanne.

the real question is, WHY? and what's on the front?

if you don't have a 245 on the front too, you're going to push like a mofo.

if you're doing this for show, try superhonda.com.

I guess you are right! The wheel width is only 7,5 and ET is 35. Then, I think it's a stupid idea.
You asked WHY... I always wanted to have wide wheels. :)
I think the best way would be 225 x 40 x 17 for both, rear and front. Agree?

225/40 would be a good size...

maybe even 215/45/17 would be better

whats the oem tire size on the lude?

The original size is 205x55x15
As per my calculations, the difference is only 53mm (0,2 inches), meaning that the 225x40x17 will be 0,2 inches higher then the original wheels.

well i have 215x40x17 on my 4th Gen lude, and i love em...run great, i dont know why youd want to widen out your tires THAT much.
