I understand what you're saying Phyre, and I do agree with you to a point. In some respects, based on single posts, and "stupid" questions our forum does come down hard on supposed n00bs. But it is not without provocation that our n00b-hungry pitbulls come out of hiding. I guarentee that if someone posts a gramatically correct, informative post relating to a question - that regardless of notoriety, and post count they will at least get a decent answer or a referal.
However, if that question is dumb - I don't believe it warrants a "omg, use t3h search funtion n00b" post from one of the regulars. The stupid question is the one that isn't answered. Granted, very general questions (or ones answered in the FAQ) are not subject to such rule - but most get my drift.
Before I became a hardcore poster on here I read a lot of the posts, just looking for neat information - or something mildly related to my problem. That is key. Reading into the boards can yeild a lot of information (or in some cases, too much - B's digestive tract for example) and sometimes you don't even need to ask a question.
