Why would anyone modify their car up to 300 whp, and then not beat on it? If you're adding power to your car, you're going to beat on it. Otherwise, there's no point. If you're not going to use 300 whp, then you don't need 300 whp....
Many WRXs get up to a stage 2 level (downpipe, intake, tune, other bolt ons) for ~300whp. There have been a few guys who broke their trannys at this level, but if you're not beating on it, you're generally fine.

Looks like it might actually happen. I'm still not too excited about a $35,000 hatchback. Maybe I just don't like that big of a car payment, maybe I would rather spend $10,000 more and get a BMW.

o yeah absolutely.....I thought we were talking new vs new, new Focus vs new BMW...I would buy a used nicer car for 35k rather then this thing....but new for new it seems like a pretty good price point if in fact its $35k.Slightly used cuts all those drastically. You can get a CPO Elite 328i X Drive for like 38k with nav, etc.
