Thanks for the reply Calesta … your link answered my second question (about the 89 Integra axles). But, for my first question … I wasn’t asking if I could use the Si axles on the ZC trans. What I’m asking is if the entire package (axles, intermediate shaft and ZC transmission) coming...
Hello,
I have a chance to pickup a ZC transmission, intermediate shaft and axles. The donor vehicle is a 92 Civic hatch. I was wandering if I could reuse the axles in my 1989 CRX Si. Does anyone know if the axles would fit? And if it doesn’t … it’s the 89 Integra axles that I need …...
Interesting ... I didn't know that. Any way, I didn't really feel a need for having drilled+slotted rotors ... it's just that the whole package for less than $400 sounded good at first glance. But, I guess I'll play it safe and stick to well known brands, all go with solid rotors and I want to...
Hello,
Has anyone used products from iROTORS before … Are they any good?
The reason I’m asking this is because there is a complete (4 drilled + slotted rotors, pads and stainless steel brake lines) package on ebay for under $400. The price is good … but that’s exactly what...
Thanks for the input so far!
I did a little bit of research ... so I'll just answer my own question. Electronic rust protectors are a money wasting gimmick and here’s why:
Electronic rust protectors use a technique called Cathodic Protection where a flow of electrons is forced...
Hello,
I was wandering if anyone has experimented with the 'CounterAct' electronic rust protection device. I've been told by friends that it should theoretically work, apparently it's a relatively old technology that's been in use by snow plows and road salters for a number of years … and...
Well there’s more … the two screws that hold the rotor down were so badly stuck-in and rusted that I had to drill their tops off to remove rotor … I was originally planning to completely drill through them and to re-thread the hole … but, since the bearing is shot, I rather just replace...
Hello,
I’m in the process of preparing trailing arms for a rear disc brake conversion on my 89 CRX (the trailing arms came out of a 91 CRX with discs). The problem is that the rear wheel bearing on one of the arms is shot …. does anyone know if a 1990-2001 Integra rear hub (found one on...
Actually Canadian CRXs didn't come with back seats either (I live in Canada) .... as far as I know, the only difference between the CDM and USDM CRX is that the Canadian version has a metric speedometer.
Thanks for all the input guys ^_^
Hello,
I just got rear seats shipped from Europe for my '89 CRX. I’m planning on installing them this weekend … it looks like a no-brainer … but I was wandering if anybody has any advice for me before I begin. It looks like I have all the parts that I need.
Many thanks in...
Thanks for all the suggestions! This is not an urgent upgrade … so I’ll take my time and try to find the integra MC/brake booster and a 4040 prop valve. I’ll pick up new front & rear rotors / pads and change over to steel brake lines too!
Yes, the 91 SI had rear discs ... I have an 89 SI with drums and the trailing arms from a 91 (with discs) that I would like to throw into my car. So my questions are:
1) Does my current master cylinder (13/16") and proportioning valve (1725) need to be replaced for a proper conversion?
2)...
Thanks for the reply. I have a chance to pickup a 7/8” MC and a 3540 Prop Valve. The seller says that it is the correct setup for a CRX rear disc conversion. The parts came out of a 91 Integra (the MC at least). I would like to keep this conversion as close as possible to a CRX with stock...
