I dont want to put a cam in it and make it borderline undrivable until it's boosted though thats my main concern. I think both cams will lead me to my end goal but if the turbo ones have more of a stock cut i think they might make it run out smoother until i reach that "end goal". That's really my main concern, maybe I've been articulating this wrong :/ i feel like we've spent a lot of messages running in circles because I can't convey what I'm trying to

I've always been in the camp of having a bone stock car while you build your monster on an engine stand. Costs a little more to have the engine around, but at least you are driving and building at the same time.

Originally I wasn't even going to touch the head or transmission or any of this, I was just gonna slap a turbo on the built block/ported polished head and call it a day so the majority of this has just been calling an audible but I think I'm gonna play it safe and go with the 402t's

hahaha. for the last 100 years guys have been saying, "i'm going to keep it pretty much stock"...then 2 years later they have a full blown race car. lol

Same here. That way I can take my time and if I'm waiting on a part I can still drive the car. Plus I won't have to tune the car every time I added something, just tune the final product. :)

Didn't you say you have a line on a GSR transmission? If you still have the H22, you should really consider going H2B. It'll be way faster than it is now, and if you still decide to build the B series, you can do it at your leisure. Also, if you decide to get hondata, or go coil-on-plug, you'll be able to use those parts on either the H or the B.

Yeah but im lookin at like probably another 1500 to go h2b, between mounts, axles and and the plate to mate the h22 and the gsr trans plus a bunch of labor trying to relocate and reduce weight for the swap and the wiring (im running obd1 rn). If my b18 was dead and needed another rebuild I feel it would be pretty viable but as it stands it would just be kind of a waste of money. I've found a lot of cheap preludes in the area though if I want another H22 it won't be hard to do.

pretty sure you are retaining your oem axles in h2b ? thats kind of the point lol and they are correct if your using hondata you can switch back to b and reuse everything , 200hp in your integra will feel balls ass fast

why would you do h2b? at this point, nothing is unique in a honda. the best way to go fast is just run a b-series and a turbo.

Yeah im gonna park the 96 LS for a bit and build another teg out of spare parts and just take the build slow, drop the motor out, and focus on building everything the exact way I want it. And in the meantime i'll have a b20z swapped teg I can play with on the weekends to keep me happy and then sell when the 96 ls is ready.

Made a new friend today as well. Sold some parts from my ek shell to a guy with a ls swapped ek, car was clean sitting on genuine bbs wheels. Not gonna lie the straight piped LS sounded really cool. Took advantage of a parked fhp car for a photo op.

Because all race cars run mufflers, right? :hmm:

There's too many factors at play to make a blanket statement like that.

I just liked the sound hearing him pull. He had the 2.5inch pipe running back to where the muffler part would bolt on and then nothing there. It's loud but not *as* loud as i kind of expected it to be. Might do that to my red one.

Update on this car: tax return came in and I'm getting that GSR transmission tomorrow after work.

Complete GSR transmission for 300$. Grabbed it tonight and it will get rebuilt by my best friend's dad whos a lifetime Honda mechanic, and he can get me the 60% employee discount for the synchros and stuff

Update on this car, I've been talking to the owner of a shop in Clearwater called ARH Automotive and he's been a lot of help. I was referred there by the guys at NextGen Tuning because I was seeing about pricing on custom exhaust setups.

The owner of ARH makes turbo manifolds and downpipes and stuff and has been a lot of help as far as giving me a build plan for the future of this motor. He's built a lot of Hondas and said for my goals of 350-400whp on a LS motor with a built bottom end and machined head like I have 400 would be the highest safe number, and that my goals can be achieved somewhat easily with a larger turbo and a conservative tune rather than dumping a lot of money into the head. I'm glad I finally found a person that knows what I'm going for and how to get there and hopefully I'll be able to work with the tuners he uses and have a nice network of people to go through as the build progresses.

I'm not sure about the wire tuck honestly, they look good but I'm not sure about having all my wires behind the dash and not being easily accessible and that stuff I'm wondering if I could buy a much nicer looking harness and just roll with that with the shaved bay.
