im curious if running a higher octane fuel is needed for this car.. according to the chart this motor only has 9.6:1 compression so i dont see why it would, but i figured id better ask before i run off and dump more money at the pump..
Ive finally gotten my d15b vtec motor into my 89 crx dx.. running great except that the temp guage isnt working..
anyways, it runs fairly strong, but no moreso than the stock motor did (ive got a 90 crx dx to compare it to).. and when i engage the vtec it doesnt give it much of a kick if...

i am comparing this to a 90 dx i also have...
the d15b vtec motor seems to have a little more torque...

tps was dead... and i noticed that the stock tps wouldnt work at all.. forget wiring it backwards, it would have locked the throttle in place....
soo.. new tps.... but how do i wire it up??

Ive been working on getting anew motor into my 89 rex for months now.. first i got gipped on a motor "i just pulled out of my crx" ... only to find that it was missing about 50 parts and couldnt fit in any rex the way it was set up... write off, then i got a jdm d15b vtec motor.. got it in ...
I bought the cheapest vtec controller i could find on ebay.. "swoon" .. it actually looks pretty nice, but it came with no wiring diagram.. i know it will have a 12v out for the vtec solenoid, but the wires arent labeled..
it has green, yellow and orange..that go out to the engine bay.. it has...
I know ive seen someone post how to do this, but every single place i search i get how to do it with an si distributor and ecu... Ive only got the cash to use the stock ecu and distributor from my 89 DX.
