You need the rear transmission bracket from a 99/00 civic si.

Okay nice.. but other than that everything should be plug n play minus the wiring and exhaust? Sure i could jist cut the exhaust .. and figure something for the exhaust i got.

It should be pretty straightforward. The catback will need modification for sure. If you can swing it, getting an aftermarket header and an exhaust made for the car would be a plus.

Civic DX engine harness won't have VTEC wiring or knock sensor wiring. Better to use a 00 Civic EX engine harness and just scalp the knock sensor plug off the Integra harness (ffsquad has good write ups on many things). Can't use the Integra engine harness b/c it's a two piece harness and your Civic is a one piece harness.

I am not saying its impossible to use the DX harness. But I truly wouldn't even contemplate it. EX harness and run the knock of the Integra plug (exposed lined is grounded). Run the wire (from knock plug) into the cabin and connect it to the ECU. You will need a donor pin (junkyard or whatever) to connect line to the ECU. ffsquad has stuff on how to attach the wire/pin to the spot on your harness plug at ECU. Just need to know the right spot (harness will have a empty slot ready)

Or a 99/00 Civic Si harness will be easier but much harder to find.

Oops....also there is the secondary butterflies on the IM. Although they can be bypassed.

Also.....knock and secondary butterfly can be deleted with a chipped ECU.

    Keep researching

couple more questions! title lists car weight as 2340..is this true? very light for a 4dr civic... Now im looking to swap the gsr into the civic.. i have abt a 500$ budget. , i can get a ebay itr header replica.(as cafrog suggested.). the 4dr gsr had a 2.5" catback..which im sure i can with some help from my welding buddy... get it to work with the 3" shorter civic 4dr.so my first question.. is that a viable option for exhuast?

Its also getting 4 new shocks..and going on h & r sport springs. These are also on my integra.. but I heard the springs should fit the civic? yes/no?
... i intend on ordering civic si mounts from honda.. heard one was abt 30 and the other was 45$...Ive seen several different part codes... Could anyone share which part #s i need?

and finally later tonight ill go check after work... but the gsr was not the original motor in the integra... and i heard IF it is 2000 gsr...I will have immobilizer problems.. is this true? And i would assume a remedy would be a pin move or repin.. I thought i had seen something about this.. but half the stickys here are dead links and such... im sure from over the years. But thats why im asking here. And also im pretty sure i have to use the integra axle yes? the integra had bad wheel bearings up front so i was hoping to keep my civic hubs.. which spin much more freely? this is possible?

Im trying to think is theres anything else i can ask....I mean this will be my first swap.. but ive participated in a few with friends.. and have done axles and trannys before..and i have help. But if there is anything else you guys can think of Id appreciate the info. Thanks for reading guys! Oh and i found a 00 ex harness for 80$ so thats good to go... so bassically need to know abt the h n r sports, the exhaust..and Im guna go tonight and see what ecu code i have for the integra so mabey i can find out what year that gsr is..(being its not the original motor for the integra)

oh and hows life without the butterflies? im worried it will hurt everyday driving...while im not beating the thing... anyway to keep them? or is this a must delete? and are they opened or closed to start? Im very new to this.. thanks for any help you can provide.. i can tell this is going to be a fun project :)

Immobilizer is only a problem if you use that year ECU. Nothing weird with the motor. Only ECU.

Try to google each of your worries. It will lead you to so many threads that it'll spin your head.

The secondary butterflies will throw a code (check engine light) if you run the stock ECU and don't wire it up. Same for the knock sensor.

Also check out ffsquad.net for info on wiring and diagrams. Lots of good stuff there if you look and are patient.

Okay some updates.. Its actually going into my new 2000 ex! Should make stuff easier....anyways..D series is out.. Didn't break anything .. Everything is ready to go.. This was a learning process I will say that! I appreciate the links frog!.. Now. Swapping the gsr in.. I'm guna tackle one thing at a time.. I have the wiring harness dangling in the civic... Can it be taken out of the car..the harness ....and put on the gsr motor?... Maybe that's a dumb question but its my first swap. Gimme a break. And the only other worry I have..is the throttle cable.. When we took out the gsr we had to hustle soo... I cut the harness close to the battery ..cut some other various stuff... Including my throttle cable close to the manifold. So the bracket on the manifold is there. But is there another bracket on the firewall I'm missing? I'm buying a brand new gsr cable.. But I hear horror stories of slack and other bad things .. So just checking..

Also, found out the ecu is def a 97 with a conversion harness for the 2000 integra it was in....which is good news for my 2000 civic... yes? And one more tiny thing. The d series came out the car kinda tight .. We got binded up and had to set it down. And make it so the tranny side of the motor hung lower and thus gave us room. Is putting the gsr in going to be like this? Any tips? On a side note I'd like to say thanks for everyone a help.. Been a hell of a ride.. But I did this 95% myself and it feels really good to be almost there..if you guys think of anything else I should know.. Don't be afraid to tell me!! And finally a victory picture :)

Put GSR motor in titled...just like the D-series came out.

Your civic engine harness is one piece. You can remove it from the car and attach plugs to motor first, then install it into chassis, run into cabin and attach to the ECU.

Not sure what you cut....got confused by your post. Throttle cables and brackets are inexpensive. Get a 99/00 Civic Si cable and bracket. Old one removes from firewall by turning it and pulling it out. Pretty simple.

    USDM or JDM motor?

    ECU is rectangular....not square right?

Usdm.. It came out of an 00 teg.. the motor.. It had a 97 gsr ecu with conversion harness for obd2b.. Which is what I needed anyways for this 2000 ex civic I'm about to put the gsr in..but my question was (when I meant I said I cut.. There is nothing cut on the EX one piece harness I can pull that out and put it right on the motor.). The problem was I cut the entire GSR motor out of the Integra that it was in prior to what about to put it... So I have only the ex stuff intact.. The integra has long since been scraped.. So what do I need exactly to make this stock gsr work? As far as throttle cable? And you said I need a bracket in the firewall too? The only thing I do have is where the throttle cable hooks into the throttle body.. That actually opens the butterfly valve on the TB ..now I'm confused with you saying firewall brackets n stuff.. Got part #s? Money isn't an issue I'll go grab what I need just want it done right.. and Ty so much for all the help cafrog. You're really carrying me through this.. Lol

things the gsr has that your ex harness does not:

different shaped intake manifold (rounds down on the gsr instead of ramping up like everything else)
IAB control wire (secondary butterflies on the intake manifold)

    I think that's it.

A gsr throttle cable might be needed due to the shape of the IM. not 100% sure the 99-00 civic one won't work through.

It would be on the manifold... i doubt you would have cut that off. dealer might refer to it as a 'stay'.

Okay a few wiring questions...everything plugged in.. but, the knock sensor(? bottom left look at the engine from the "back.." or stand on the intake side..)..plug.. didnt match the d series and isnt nearly long enough..im assuming extend this and scalp plug from d series...? yes?

^^ Picture of plug I should scalp from d series.. and lengthen on b series motor.. sry for bad flash but it definitely correlates to the d series harness plug...obviously lol

Next.. here is the d series harness on the USDM gsr motor..the two wires I think need to be extended to to the vtec solenoid... and i need to scalp dizzy plug from gsr harness and replace this d series one.. yes..?

Okay next question.. i got most of the harness on, but up on top of the manifold by the injectors..the one plug on the d series is located on the fuel rail.. this one is not...its further back.. is it okay just to cut the protective tubing the wires go through to lengthen to this denso solenoid..? the solenoid in question is to the right of my hand and the plug

Okay now the biggest problem or unknown here... First pic is under the manifold... Am i correct using the round grey plug ( to the left in this pic below) that comes off where the alternator power (the eye where u put a bolt thru it) and the green plug for Alternator ...?

^^ Now the object to the right with no round plug in it..This is what controls the butterfly valves yes? and i must scalp a plug and run that wire to a spot on my conversion harness.. and the other one to ground or 12v constant...? Im sure i can read up more on this just want to make sure its the right thing...

but there is something else (pic below).. there is a plug on top of the manifold.. one if the denso(evap purge valve..?) that i reconize as the plug thats loomed in with the injector plugs (yes?) (shown in third pic down from the top of this post)... Directly to the right of that is this, is my IAT correct? I dont have any plug to plug into this...and ill tell you why... everything else fits perfectly...now one more round plug is left...along with what I believe to be the o2 sensor plug in? (pic below) You can see the two wires im talking about splitting into a y at the bottom left of pic... Other is for this plug( pic below ) on the power steering line (green plug in)...yes? so what goes in the IAT on top of the manifold?..

In the picture below here is the plug ( in the empty ex bay..that i feel like the grey round plug goes in to(pictured above)..?

and a picture of the two plugs im talking about (below).. the square like i said i believe is the o2 sensor plug in (the front o2).. and the other goes to the this green plug? so what goes to the IAT?

also do i have these wires right..(below).? u can see the harness in the back ground...but heres a better shot.. i labled stuff in here... just as a reference to talk about.. 1 is tps...yes.. 2 is IACV? and 3 is the two wires in question ive been talking about... I also have my gsrt throttle cable coming tomorrow...so im hoping to have it run tomorrow provided i get some help....Just all the wires fit.. everything is good under dizzy.. the one weird plug and regular grey square plug.. plugged in.. line coming from tranny plugged in...dizzy/and 2 vtech lines just dangling there waiting..the one plug that plugs into a sensor actually in the rubber stock ex intake is on the same line as the bigger round pluig that plugs into a sensor directly ontop of the throttble body... the one sensor under the intake manifold next to the butterfly sensor actuator..is plugged in with the grey round plug that ends with the knock sensor.. alternator plug and power wire eye(put the screw thru)..the one y in the back is o2 and power steering line plug(i think) and the other y comes up and plus into tps and iactv? yes? idk.. i tried to explain the best i could and provide pics,.,,,Thanks for all the help...``
