D15B1 Smoking Problem *Pack and a 1/2*

The civic is burning about a quart and 1/2 a week. I check the compression today which was with in service limits.

Compression: 1# 145 2# 150 3# 142 #4 142

The only time you notice the smoke is down shifting going down a hill.

I figured I would start with valve seals & Oil pan gasket. Any other suggestions?

Valve cover gasket has been changed.

valve seals for sure, with the throttle colsed the engine has to pull vacuum on something while on the intake stroke, so the leaking intake valve seals take the abuse and that is where the oil comes from.
Replace the valve seals all the way around, but also check for valve guide wear while you have it apart (your service manual will tell you how to do that)
