Nice! Thanks. I am going to see about some aluminum and talk to a guy that has a axis machine to cut that template. If he can do aluminum and if I want to spend how much the piece is.....
if you get it done LMK how it turns out.. might make one for myself.. my buddies dad works in a machine shop.. he made some custom brackets out of aluminum for my buddies snowboard and bindings because the bolt pattern was different
I think the best way is to have the program he uses
(if its a 3-axis machining tool) But he seems to use
lathes and such.
I need to see a picture of the back. If you look at the side view given...
the recessed lines confuse me. If its just plain flat stock with a 1/2" slug
that's pretty easy to make (like you said) with cardboard. Then the trick
would be to get a cheap piece of T-6061 that is at least a 1/2" thick and
almost 3ft long.
I don't think a 3-Axis machine shop can really touch it and make it a
cheaper alternative to the ASR bar. Make a hundred of them....then
you'll see the potential....but then you got to sell a whole lot of them
I am going to search...again for more pics on the ASR bar. I need a
picture of the back to see if its flat and all that is needed is a slug
He's a way using a bunch of washers as shims (gotta be another way)
And he makes the LCA bolt go through it too...which causes more need for
washers. But the idea can work. Cutting it....another subject but a guy I spoke
to today said that there's jigsaw cutting blades only for aluminum that can work
if you take your time.
I just said hell with it and threw on the GSR sway set up I have.
I cleaned up the LCA's and sway components...then painted them
with black high heat paint. Evey thing went really smooth. I even
took my muffler off, taped off the tip and painted the muffler while
I was back there and it was up in the air. The welds on the muffler
were already rusting (only been a few week)
I'll post the pictures when I get my USB cord back
Feels more responsive for sure. I can tell it has more of a sling shot effect when coming around a corner. It just kinda whipped the ass around the corner under acceleration. Its nice.
Getting My OEM strut bar (basic black) tomorrow and looking into a decent rear strut bar. I like the passwordjdm but not sure if its that big a difference over the cheap aluminum ebay ones.
Might get that Beaks kit with the tie bar (wrote a guy selling them and we'll see what he says on $ price $
