88 CRX Si with B16A P30 ecu. I am a poor man, so I spliced wires to the ecu. I used 3 different references to confirm ecu pin outs. So, the motor will turn-over and the fuel pump will buzz but no spark. Here's some trouble shooting I have performed up till this point.

1. replaced ignitor with known working ignitor.
2. checked #32 fuse and is good.
3. checked for battery voltage between black/yellow wire and ground. ok.
4. checked for battery voltage between white/blue wire and ground. ok.
7. checked for continuity between ignitor body and distributor housing. ok.

any help will be appreciated.
Thanks airgetcha

back up here Turbo.......i read you are using a P30 OBD-1 ECU in your 88 Si? did you do a non OBD to OBD-1 conversion?

I converted to OBD-1 by splicing wires as best I could. I realize this is most likely the problem, but I followed reference material closely.

if this reference material is incorrect please let me know.

also, I can crank the engine over without the ECU connected. should I be able to do this?

Thanks Airgetcha

i have yet to do this swap.....but did you use a jumper harness between ECU and Carside harness? did you wire Dizzy connector correctly?

Jumper harness?.....not sure what that is, but what I did do was use my old harness from the 88 Si. Spliced it to the distributor plugs that came with the new engine. Did I connect the wires correctly, problably not. I just spliced the same colored wires to the distributor plugs. If anyone has any idea's on this please let me know. I have not been able to fined a list of color coded wires for a PM6 ECU.
I realize its obdo, but are all obdo ECU colored wires the same? Also, I inadvertently shifted the distributor when I took it apart. I understand this will advanced or retard the timing, but will it prevent spark?

while troubleshooting a coolant leak I found the ground to thermostate housing disconnected. I connected it and still nothing. The next thing I will try is checking for voltage to the ecu pin#a25, I believe this is the ignition power.

symptoms: every time I crank the engine over I can smell fuel, but no obvious leaks that I can see. I pulled a plug and grounded it and had the engine turned over. I saw spark twice but could not consistently reproduce it suggesting this was static buildup?

Thanks
