and think about the money involved. a gsr or itr swap is 3200-4500. pretend its not even that much say you can get either for 2K. do you even know if it will fit under the hood?

do you know how to do custom fab work? welding? making custom axles? mounts? what are you going to do about engine management?

to answer your question, no its not smart and especially not cost effective.

Yes, it will fit under the hood. If I remember correctly, the Suzuki version of the Geo had a 1.3L 4 cylinder that was taller than the 1.0 3 cyl in the same body. Yes, I can fathom the custom work that is involved, I have friends with welders.

I know the cost of it alone for the engine and drivetrain. I also have friends in the metal business that can get me good scraps of steel.

I also have a dremel. :p

Like I said, this was just an idea I thought up. I'd have to get a Geo shell and a GSR engine/tranny under my belt before I can make real world measurements anyway. Hell, if I can't get it to work. I'll dump the Geo and buy an EG to swap.

engine management would be a chipped p28/p72.

i dont think you understand how much work would REALLY be involved in something like that. i consider myself very mechanically inclined and i dont think i could make something like that work. when i said engine management i didnt mean the ECU. what about an engine wiring harness or more importnantly chassis wiring for then engine. im not being a dick but dont waste your time with something like this, get a CX/VX EG and swap that. it will be just as fast and look MUCH cooler :D

and i dont have an EF, nevermind a fast one. i have an EG thats nothing but a shell right now but it will be fast as soon as i get B's hatch and build the GSR in it for mine :p

Didnt you not have the tools to do a brake pad replacment so you had someone else do it for you? now you're jumping into something like this?

I have a feeling this is one of thos projects people start and 2-3 years later get tired of seeing it sit around and ebay whats left.

Who the hell says I'm "jumping into this" right now? No, I don't have the time or money to start on this anytime soon, it's just an idea I had.

At least I've modified my car and actually ran it at the track before I sold it all the while continuing to brag about what it did after I sold it.

oooohh low blow

Last time I checked everysingle car I've owned has been more modified with in a month of owning it then you SI is to this day.

I didnt run it because I didnt want to break something before selling it. I wanted to get out. Making sick power takes tons of time and money. something I was done with. I was able to get everything I wanted for the car (money wise) so I sold it.

and it ran 15.3 with me driving it with intake exhaust and a stock B16.
My datsun ran 14.3

What are your best times?

Yeah, last I heard he only had bolt-ons.

But im not provoking, dont mind me....................

That's because I wasn't really interested in modifying it until I had had it for a year. It took me 6 months to put an intake on it... let alone my shifter, header and exhaust sitting downstairs in the garage.

But anyway, I did a few minor mods and ran a crappy 15.7 something or another in the Escort until I blew the clutch on my way home from work one night. But, my point is is that I don't brag on cars I don't own anymore.

Your logic seems completely backwards from what people usually do. Modify it, run it, sell it. At least see what all the time and money got you.

PS, I haven't ever ran the Si yet. I have a car payment and rent now, so I don't have the money I had to blow on my car like I did with the Escort.

I drove my car for over a year daily drivin, in rain, snow, and sun shine. I DID NOT build my car for the track. As most people know I can't stand drag. Ive been in the past for kicks but over all it does nothing for me.

My goal was to build a sick car for the street. And I did that =) I've never lost a race. =)

That's fine. Don't build it for the track, but at least put it on the track or on the dyno to see what your efforts got you.

It made 253WHP and 180ish Torque at if I remember right 9PSI if it wasnt 9 it was 11PSI

Most all timing was cut back after 4500rpm to keep it safe fuel wise due to having 440cc injectors So the power curve droped. Massive Torque at a really low RPM, very odd for a B16 =)
