and think about the money involved. a gsr or itr swap is 3200-4500. pretend its not even that much say you can get either for 2K. do you even know if it will fit under the hood?
do you know how to do custom fab work? welding? making custom axles? mounts? what are you going to do about engine management?
to answer your question, no its not smart and especially not cost effective.

Yes, it will fit under the hood. If I remember correctly, the Suzuki version of the Geo had a 1.3L 4 cylinder that was taller than the 1.0 3 cyl in the same body. Yes, I can fathom the custom work that is involved, I have friends with welders.
I know the cost of it alone for the engine and drivetrain. I also have friends in the metal business that can get me good scraps of steel.
I also have a dremel.
Like I said, this was just an idea I thought up. I'd have to get a Geo shell and a GSR engine/tranny under my belt before I can make real world measurements anyway. Hell, if I can't get it to work. I'll dump the Geo and buy an EG to swap.
engine management would be a chipped p28/p72.

i dont think you understand how much work would REALLY be involved in something like that. i consider myself very mechanically inclined and i dont think i could make something like that work. when i said engine management i didnt mean the ECU. what about an engine wiring harness or more importnantly chassis wiring for then engine. im not being a dick but dont waste your time with something like this, get a CX/VX EG and swap that. it will be just as fast and look MUCH cooler
and i dont have an EF, nevermind a fast one. i have an EG thats nothing but a shell right now but it will be fast as soon as i get B's hatch and build the GSR in it for mine
