So i finally unlocked and perm rooted my Rezound. installed ICS Clean ROM 3.5

Did some speed tests ..Here is my PC on wifi with comcast.

I get similar speeds; though sometimes the upload is around 7.

Only thing I'm worried about is last night the internet stopped working(4G switched to 3G, kept flipping on and off, then just stayed off). I had to restart my phone but that has me a little worried since the phone is stock and barely has any "aftermarket" apps on it.

Do they have ways of re-locking the phone and install the stock ROM, if you root and install a new ROM?

yes but on the new phones the phone will show up as "re-locked" letting your carrier know its been unlocked, most likely voided the warranty.
